Plastic Pipes are widely used throughout oil and gas gathering applications due to the combination of chemical resistance, flexibility and durability. Polyethylene pipes are in use in applications both above and below ground where the temperatures and pressures can be tolerated. Typical pressures are up to 300 psi with temperatures up to 140F.
Recently composite pipe structures have become widely accepted in Oil & Gas Gathering applications. The composite pipes can be composed of a wide range of thermoplastic pipe materials that may be reinforced with thermoset plastics, metals or other reinforcing materials. Composite pipes can be designed to operate at higher temperatures than polyethylene and at pressures up to over 1000 psi.
